Dear friends

Just to let you know that Shirley is now safely back in Surkhet, Nepal. She reports that life is super busy, with two more fistula repairs undertaken yesterday (and seven operated on in the last ten days). She says it is lovely to have the centre busy again, but it is harder for her to fit in the work she needs to do to support the INF Surkhet Clinic.

She even went to Pokhara for one night to talk with her colleagues. Shirley described it as ‘crazy’ but possible now with flights between Nepalgunj and Pokhara reintroduced.

Finally Shirley asks if her supporters and prayer partners can help her colleague,  Sandra Chinnery, raise £3500 for the INF Surkhet Clinic.

The INF Clinic has a long history of supporting people with disabilities. Hundreds of people with various physical disabilities have received help and treatment over the last 45 years. It is the only rehabilitation centre that serves more than a third of Nepal. People learned to walk again, learned to manoeuvre wheelchairs and become independent. Due to a shortage in funding in the summer 2021 all of that had to stop! The bedrooms are empty, the white board showing patient names is blank. All the staff lost their jobs. We want to re-open the clinic again, get the services back and help people get moving!

The £3,500 will provide five wheelchairs and the salary of a physiotherapist. Please donate to their JustGiving Crowdfunding Page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/get-moving?utm_term=qwKn2VN7w

Thank you.

With best wishes
